Being from Melbourne and foxtel taking the WAFL games off their network I was wondering if anyone on the forum could let me know if their is a decent crumber player in the WAFL either seniors or colts that we might be interested in please. We desperately need one as we really haven't had a good one since Phil Matera and with Lecca's injury we could do with recruiting a new one.

I am pretty sure we can get a priority pick, the winning less than five games priority pick doesn't discriminate against teams based on last years performance (at least I don't think it does). The only realistic way we can get the first pick though is if we lose to Melbourne and don't win any other games (Melbourne really are looking bad this year!)

This year, if we win less than 4.5 games we will get a pick after the first round ie pick 17.
If win less than 4.5 games next year we will get a pick prior to the first round ie pick 1.

Is that because he would rather go to Melbourne or because he expects to go to Melbourne as the Perth teams picks are expected to be too late?
His MUM does not want him to go, but like a lot of teenagers he is keen to leave the nest and see the world. He is "not interested" in playing for the Eagles or Shockers. Having said that, like any draftee if he was taken by us, he would have to stay put and I guess in time would become a fixture at Westcoast. I just always figure that if you have a draftee who really wants to stay in Perth, and discourages Melbourne clubs, then we have a better chance of him still being available whne our pick comes. Sadly Daniel seems to be the opposite.
If he's been watching the Eagles then he's probably getting used to the idea that he might be staying, because at the moment we're not looking too bad to get the required draft pick. Would really suck to pick up a gun from Perth who wanted to go to Melbourne though, on the positive side by the time he'd look at getting traded (assuming we picked him up), he'd probably be old enough to realise that you don't necessarily have to move to the other side of the country to get away from your mum How has his form been recently anyway, I saw him play last year and he looked like a dead set, gold plated gun, but haven't heard much in the last month or so. I'd given him up as yet another awesome WA youngester that we won't get within cooee of, but it looks like that may have changed.
I don’t see any realistic chance of us getting pick number one. If we can’t finish above Melbourne, Richmond and Carltank, there would have to be something seriously wrong. That said, we may not need the number one pick. All the talk here seems to be about WA players, but surely after the U18 championships there’ll be several others under consideration.

Suppose Richmond only win 2 more games for the year (currently on two and a half). What happens then?

Then Yes, they'd get a first round priority pick, which would be pick number one unless Carltank also qualified for a first round priority pick, in which case it would go to whichever finished lower.

Good question! I would assume they would be eligible for it, but if would ultimately hope not (no matter what position we finish as it would push us back a pick even if we finished top)

It didn't really make any sense did it If we finish with less than five wins this year, we'll get a priority pick at the beginning of the 2nd round. If we have a repeat performance next year, the priority pick is at the very beginning of the draft (but god knows how that will work with the new teams and their allocations)

I dont think we suck enough to be in a place to pick him up. Pick 4 or 5 is what we will get.

If we lose to Carlton, I don't think 15th is unlikely.

Thanks crazy dazz and booka. That sucks though, I bet you anything they will finish on 4 and a half games. If we lose this game I think a top 3 pick is certainly realistic.
