According to this article it seems that we aren't going to be a player in the PSD. Am I missing something or are you guys just throwing around hypotheticals for nothing better to do?

The rookie draft is not the same as the PSD.

Thanks for pointing that out... I missed that. So what pick do we have in the rookie draft, when is it, and do we actually have 1 or 2 spots available (I thought only Wilkes is being upgraded)?

And Freo have 3 and 20?
So basically Matt DeBoer is going to the dockers (provided Melb don't pick him up). I reckon we get the jump on Richardson at 2 and then one of Quartermaine or another small forward at 18. Any indigenous players heading into the rookie draft that would give us that little bit of X-factor?

There is still the PSD to go before the rookie draft I believe.

Sharples or Sibosado with one of our picks. We got some X-factor in the draft (Naitanui - the biggest X-factor to join the game), yet some extra X-factor never hurt anybody.

I could rebut that comment PA but I'll resist!

I haven't voted because I really haven't seen/heard enough about everyone on the list. I'd be content to take Cockie (and I have a feeling we will) but IMHO he's never going to be a star at AFL level, more a 2nd-tier workhorse (Priddis mk II?). He'll have to fight very hard to make it.

Obviously an Indigenous crumber is also preferable, not really fussed who on that list it is. Wish Melbourne hadn't ****ing snared Jetta!

We're allowed 38 players on our senior list, plus the choice of putting upto two on the outside Veterans list. This season we had only Braun on that list, but next season we will have Wirra & Fletch. So effectively 40 senior players.
The quid-pro-quo is that we lose two rookie spots, so this season we had only 5, and next season it WOULD have been only 4.
However the AFL has increased the overall size of the rookie list from 6 to 8. So we get 6. With Wilkes ellevated, that gives us two picks.
RD picks are the same as for the ND, without priority picks, and they can't be traded. So we get picks 2 & 18.

How very kind of you. Yet I'am curious now to hear your logic.

Why deprive me of reason? I can live the rest of my life foolishly thinking that even copious amounts of X-factor does well ....

Help me :(

Will this madness never end?
99% certain it won't happen, but it could be the perfect solution:
It won't happen without tha AFL's extraordinary approval, so they have to be 100% in favour. Any doubts (or head shaving) and it wouldn't happen.
If the shit did hit the fan, the AFL can't blame anyone but themselves.
He comes home and plays WAFL for a year, which is probably where he belongs.
If after that he looks good enough to play AFL, and is clean, we could put him on the Veterans list for a year.
Perfek!

The one spot that needed filling that we DIDN'T fill in the draft was "small crumbing forward". I'd like us to get one of those in either the rookie draft or the preseason draft if possible.
