Just read that too. Weird though? He would have signed on for 2 years after the draft.

I'd say it's more of a "piss off Gold Coast" type of thing. Great news.

Yeah which means we have secured a longer contract than that which will keep the wolves at bay .

Just read on Big Footy they've dubbed him The TERMINAITA.

I fucken like it.

To whit: Listen, and understand. That Terminaita is out there. He can't be bargained with. He can't be reasoned with. He doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And he absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

I second that emotion.

"The Terminaita's an infiltration unit, part man, part machine. Underneath, it's a hyper-alloy combat chassis - micro processor-controlled, fully armoured. Very tough. But outside, it's living human tissue - flesh, hair, skin, hair, face, considerably more hair...The Judd series had a chrome dome. We spotted them easy. But this is new."

I'm particularly looking forward to the games:

TERMINAITA 2: RUCKMAN DAY
TERMINAITA 3: RISE OF THE FIJIAN
TERMINAITA: SALVATION (don't need to change that one because he's our saviour and that innit.)

The AFL should seriously consider creating a "One-Percenter of the Year" award, just for that effort.

Or maybe a series of awards, for Shepherd of the Year, Smother of the Year, Tackle of the Year, Chase of the Year, Crowd-noise Generator of the Year, etc...

I think they do don't they? Called the "Army Award" or something for exactly those sort of plays.

That photo probably highlights what I thought about his footballing "brain". There might be certain things he needs to learn like where to run, how to kick and how to mark etc (altho he seems to have already improved the marking)... but his football IQ as far as shepherds, handballing to advantage, tackling, smothering is very very high. Can't wait to see him when he actually has a full pre-season and is able to run to alot more contests.

He knows what to do but still has trouble implementing it. If you look at the goal he doesn't actually block anyone.
Josh Kennedy: 67 games - 90 goals
for West Coast: 45 games - 79 goals

 that's beside the point, there is a guy behind Kennedy that looks like he is stumbling ... in any case, Naita has it covered if there was someone to block .. but alas, they were all scared off the Terminaita.

That's because like a peacock spreading it's feathers and a goanna frilling it's neck the entire Hawthorn team shat their pants and didn't want to go near him.

Actually peacocks do it to attract other peacocks don't they

This whole 'fear factor' thing with Naita is very interesting and exciting. It seemed that the Hawks defenders were genuinely intimidated by the fact Naita was left one-out in the 50 (albeit only in his 2nd game). I can't remember ever having a forward that the opposition was afraid of letting the ball get close to. This is incredibly beneficial to our side, especially considering our young midfield sometimes tends to bomb it in.

Someone started a thread a while ago about Naita being bred for our forward line, and so far it looks to be 100% accurate. Even if he doesn't kick 3 goals every game, he will still take the opposition's best or 2nd best tall defender, leaving Kennedy/Brown with a lesser light. Hopefully opposition defenders watched the game and how worried Campbell Brown was having to mark Naita. If we can instill this perceived fear into opposition defenders (particularly young defences) we will suddenly look a lot better than we did with our 2008 forward line setup.

I say leave Lynch in the midfield and leave Naita in the forward line.
Also, off topic, but is it just me or is Mark Le Cras a bloody amazing footballer? He nailed that goal from the boundary that had to be retaken by Stinger (pathetic umpiring) and he had one just like that stolen by Mckinley a few weeks back. He has some pretty freaky Motlopesque skills to go with his great contested marking. I don't think we can rate this guy high enough. Easily my favourite player. Behind Ebert, Hurn, Naitanui and Scooter.
