Trade week if before the draft so we'd have to make any such Seaby trade a year after picking up Naitanui.

I wouldn't trade Seaby anyway, though. I don't know why people are always looking to trade him.

I'd expect us to take Hurley if Rich was gone.

Michael Hurley
192cm, 88kg, Northern Knights/Macleod
2007 All Australian
KPP: CHB, FB, CHF, FF

A tall defender/forward, Hurley kicks the ball long and extremely well with either foot. He also competes strongly in the air. Led the 2007 championships in rebounds from defensive 50 with 22, and was a good decision-maker with or without the football. He capped off a consistent championships with very good game at full-back against Victoria Country in the final round.

Hurley is no stranger to sporting success. With a strong build at 192cm and a dedicated attitude, he is accomplished at many sports at a high level. "I played in the Victorian under-15 side and we won the State Championship so that was great. I also played representative cricket," says Hurley. He also keeps himself busy playing basketball and had some impressive tennis achievements growing up.

I like him better than Yarran because he has a footy brain not just an athlete like Staker, McKenzie and Thompson.

Was Hurley underage at the last draft? If not, why was he not taken?

Hurley was too young last year. Not sure he is what we need, we have plenty of young talls. Although you dont pick on need and If we rated him clearly the best then we should take him.

Hell, from that picture it's hard to imagine he won't be underage for about the next five drafts.

I think drafting Naitanui over a pacey midfield type would be good, Coxy is 28 next year and someone has to take over the ruck reins sometime and now would be oppertune.
Lets hope this ACME kit works.

Its beginning to look like a possibility. I still expect Melbourne would take him at #1, but Seaby isn't the lock he looked like he'd be, so a high quality ruckman with the potential upside of NickNat would be very handy. At worst you're going to get a good ruckman. It was a similar situation when Franklin was drafted - the attributes were there to be something incredible. Natanui has something nobody else in the AFL does - it'd be bloody great to have him on our list.

I don't think Naitanui will be any more than a 5 minute a quarter ruckman in the AFL. More like the old style ruck rover ala Goodes.

I can't wait for the draft! I remember last year when i heard on the radio that we had picked up Masten, an Ebert and another Selwood i was pumped!

I think we are a good shot of getting Nicco. I'm leaning towards Melbourne picking up Rich. I mean, if they do get Robbie Warnock from Freo, which i think will happen, they still have multiple other ruck options in Jamar etc. for years to come. They could probably use a quality midfielder more. Even Hurley, because with the retirement of Neitz they really need a focal point up forward.

Melbourne need to start again with their rucks. Jamar, Meesen and Paul Johnson are all useless. If they get Warnock they should still go for Natanui.
