I've gone with Alroy Gilligan and Adam Cockie

Alroy Gilligan - Could be exactly what we need in our forward line. Pace and X-factor - that bit of magic that I'd love to see at the feet of B-Mac, Kennedy and c/o. Huge upside IMO

Adam Cockie - What you see is what you get - plays the sort of football that I'd love in our side. Very hard at it and just doesn't give up on the chase and tackle, heart on his sleeve sort of stuff but can still pull out that bit of magic from time to time as well. For this reason I'd rate him just above DeBoer in our side

We can't cut any of our other rookies now can we?

I really think Wilson is surplus to requirements, Johnstone probably not upto it, and Arrowsmith not a chance of getting a game in the makeup of our side.

The only players we can cut ahead of tomorrows third and final list lodgement are those that are out of contract. I dont think we have any current players that fall into this category at present.

We also need to provide an Estimated Total Player Payments figure for the 09 season tomorrow.

Never heard of any of them so I'll wait until I see some of their skills.

DeBoer and Pierce were both AA u18s so it was very surprising neither
went in the main, but I selected DeBoer and Cockie...
DeBoer will make a good replacement for Rojo  and I think Cockie likewise
for Chick  ...

I picked DeBoer and Rockliff. Deboer is only his kicking game away from being a top class midfielder, very good inside and out. Rockliff could be the small forward we are looking for. Like Mckinley he's booted plenty of goals in the TAC Cup over the last two years. Would also be perfectly happy with Cockie, Richardson and Clancee Pearce. Fans of all of them.

Its a very interesting question.
As I deliberated there clearly are several strains of thought that went through my mind.

Do we.

    Draft best available.
Draft for what we missed out of in the ND : a small crumbing forward.
    Draft for X factor.
Draft a combination of the above.

My two cents worth.
Best available : Pearce , De Bore , Cockie.
Small forward : Sharples , Richardson , Rockliff
X factor : Sibasido , Bennell , Sharples.
Combination : Richardson , Rockliff , Sharples.

Now here is where I have to be honest I am a Claremont supporter and as such I have seen more of Richardson than the other smalls. I rate him..... he is smart , a lefty and plays taller than his height , therefore he got my vote.

For pure excitement and X factor I find it hard to pass on Sharples. But here is the confession I have never seen him live just his youtube highlights.. but by God he looks good.

So I voted Sharples then Richardson.

Don't need DeBoer, Pearce, Kayanga, Cockie, we have Nicoski, Kerr and Priddis to stuff up every kick going forward.

I want one of Alroy Gilligan and Frank Quartermain, if not both. Woody can play with the other pick and select a favourite.
Josh Kennedy: 67 games - 90 goals

99% sure you cant but I'm not totally unhappy with those guys.

Your probably right that Wilson is surplus to requirements but he could step in and do a job.

I actually have alot of time for Stevenson, he really improved as the year went on and added really good size. He moves really well and is a very good height. Definitely looks the part. Worth a rookie sport IMO, he looks to be a late developer.

Arrowsmith is up against it but he is an interstate rookie who we dragged over here to be on 20k p/year yet train full time so he deserves another year. Perhaps too sentimental but thats what we are like.

Ideally I'd like 1 more pick but not a huge issue. We will be able to get 2 very good options at 2 and 19.

Anyway, back on topic. I'd like Richardson and Gilligan. Pearce and Cockie should be good types but we are loaded with their type. I'd worry about Peace's mobility on Subi aswell.

Bit harsh there on Kerry Sico

Why, he vies with Fletcher as the worst kick in the team.
