 Player Information
Daniel Kerr came runner up in the Rising Star award in his first season at the club, but his undoubted talent was probably a bit overshone in his early years by the duo of Chris Judd and Ben Cousins. Despite that, Kerr has made a name for himself as the hardest at the ball of any Eagle, and one of the most courageous and fearless Eagles of all time. Kerr is the player who lives at the bottom of the packs getting the ball, yet is still superb when he gets the ball anywhere else on the ground. His abilities showed through when he came runner-up to Cousins in the 2005 Brownlow Medal, and his efforts were recognised when he won the 2007 EFH Player of the Year Award and also gained selection in the All-Australian team.

In 2008 Kerr will become the top of the West Coast midfield brigade with the loss of Judd and Cousins, and he will need to continue with his superb efforts to keep West Coast going. The additional attention he now gets seems to be quite a challenge for Kerr, with his well known temper getting the better of him under pressure. I doubt either Kerr or the club were happy with his overall performance in 2008, but the longer term deal he signed with the club shows faith that he can return to the form he showed as part of the dominant West Coast midfield of 05-06.
