A young key position player, Beau Wilkes was widely predicted to go in the second round of the main draft, not the rookie draft. He mostly plays up forward, although played as a defender in the under 18 carnival. He is a good mark and has an unorthodox but effective kicking style
Interestingly enough, Wilkes has been retained on the West Coast rookie list for a fourth season in 2008 - a change to past rules that would have required he be delisted or elevated after three seasons. |
