Sounds like brander d. They always have to go for the bargain. Slid down the order is classic west coast. Why did no one pick Johnson?

Don't see how he sounds like Brander.

The bargain sounds like Johnson. We picked a guy not expected to go for a while.

We need outside speed and line breaker. So we drafted outside speed and line breaker.

We also get an extra pick next year when all players should have gotten a full season of development in.

The fact Johnson has slipped so far, the media sees one thing, the recruiters see everything.

100%. Chesser was a steal and just the type of player we need. We have an abundance of inside mids, so it makes sense to have someone with speed and class for the insiders to get it to.

We also picked up Port's future second round pick which we should try and bundle up with our pick 31 or 37 to move further up the order tonight.

Johnson will be a very good player, but plenty have passed on him. Freo are probably likely to grab him at pick 21 unless they trade it out.

Brander was expected to be a top 10 pick but he slid down the order and so West coast got him. Hindsight is 20/20. Chesser sounds like the player to run up and down the lonely side of the ground. Then replace Gaffy in a few years. Chesser Chasser, seems like a good name for a runnning player.

Some of these boys are going to need to spend a few months in the gym to put some size of. Pretty skinny.

Clark is a good get. Ready to play.

Another forward/ruckman.

Very much focused on the outside this year.

Because we were so good at winning our own ball this year, no need to address that issue....

They look OK, they always do on draft night. Clark does look like a good get, what's his disposal like?

I'm happy with the haul. A good eye for the future with a bit of the here and now. Getting an extra second round pick next year was a real bonus.

Didn't take anyone in the rookie draft.

We keeping spots open for mid season and SSP?

Much has been written regarding our salary cap issues; possibly also a reason to keep the list a bit smaller?

If that's the case, we are taking a huge risk with a list of 41. We had injury problems last year and we can't pass up an opportunity to develop new draftees and maybe pick up an experienced ruckman. I'm sure we will invite a few to train with us and make some decisions prior to the season starting.

Was there some academy players? Maybe they are going to get them to train with club and pick the best 3. Is the rookie list outside the salary cap?

Ethan Regan is an academy player, but we chose not to nominate him at the draft. Who knows, we may have him train with us over summer, but we can select him directly
