Rosa Requests a Trade

Could be a good opportunity for the club, but I'm not sure who else is out there that we'd be targeting?
Maybe we could do a deal to upgrade one of our picks? I wonder who the clubs are that are interested.

I like Rosa, he's been (as the saying goes) a great servant of the club, and I'd be sad to see him go. But I can understand his pov. He's been on the fringe, this season, and he's only going to be pushed further by Duggan, Nelson, Lamb, Redden, Jetta, and whatever guns we unearth this year.

At least if we trade this year, whilst he's under contract, we may get something useful.
If he stays, and does get forced out, then he leaves as free agent and we'd get nothing at all.

I'd like Jed Anderson to come to the club but I can't see Rosa being a fit for the Hawks. So I don't know how the club would facilitate that.

Truth is he'd be depth in 2016, as you said Dazz, so it is hard to entice him to stay. Again as you said, an upgrade of one of our picks is probably the best outcome there.

Might be able to trade Rosa and pick 37 for a pick that would get us a player like Anderson.

I doubt Rosa will want to go to one club he is a fringe on to another he will be a fringe on. Go with one of the lower clubs and try and upgrade our picks.

I can't believe I am even going to say this...

I reckon Rosa would have a decent relationship with his former coach?

So,

Rosa

to

the Scum??? :(

Who would he be most valuable to?
Gold Coast have struggled, but will have a few players back from injury... Maybe Carlton
Or, as I said, the scum.

What's Rosa worth in trade? A decent 3rd round?
Maybe upgrade our 2nd round pick?

We'd better be fishing for decent offers rather than giving away for picks we won't even use (Koby Stevens / Ben McKinley trades comes to mind).

If we aren't offered value, then Rosa stays - whether he likes it or not.

McKinley was a favour, getting a player to his preferred destination when he was going to be desisted anyway. Stevens was a 3rd round , which got us Colledge and a little bit of Cripps.

At the moment we have picks 36, 37, and 56.
56 is rubbish in this draft, so a decent improvement on that would be worth having.

But yes, anything higher than mid 3rd round, and we might as well not bother.

Heartbroken, but I wish Matty all the best. He'll get more games at another club and it will be great to see him play 200 games. Rosa will still be my fave player but I guess Lecca is going to be my Eagles no.1 now

Anything worse than pick 30-35 appears to be total junk in this draft.

we would get SFA for him this year given he is 29.

And even less next year in free agency... If he is wanting to leave then his heart won't be in it, so no point having him on the list. Get him a trade, do the right thing by a player that has been with us for so long and get what we can. And if we really don't value the draft depth this year, talk a club into offering a next year pick.

His experience is too valuable as a depth player.

I guess we wait and see what shakes lose from the trade tree. Supposedly "other teams had shown an interest" so lets see what that interest amounts to.
Definitely a player worth having, lets hope we don't give him up for just peanuts.

Huge loss if he leaves. I understand where he is coming from though.

Would have been in the best players in the SF then gets shafted when Masto comes straight back in and stinks it up for the remaining games.

I would hold onto him and let him go head to head with Masten over summer. The winner gets a spot on the field, the loser plays with East Perth.
