EFH site seems to be running a little lumpy?

Can't be surprised with Petrie. Two months ago before we took Vardy it looked like an OK stop gap to some; including me. Problem is time and options have moved on but one mates word to another mate has not.

Disappointed not to rookie an true future ruck option, maybe they think there are none however so often it seems that one year young rucks are spuds and the next they are going top twenty in the draft.

But what do you think of him? I assume you have watched him play? I guess he's a backman by the fact he has never scored a goal in the WAFL reserves of league?

I've been pretty happy with our offseason moves so far. The Petrie drafting seriously looks as stupid a move as I've ever seen.

No one else wanted him. No one.

Old and nowhere near his best and not fit for the purpose we reportedly drafted him. This is the first time I find myself wondering if Simmo is the best man for the job. No place for this in a professional organisation.

I agree, pressure is on both to perform. I find this ridiculous also.

He's slightly older, around 20 IIRC. Yes, he's a defender, very much in the mould of McGovern and Barass, so you can see the attraction. He reads the play well, and is a good spoil when 1 on 1. He lacks polish, but I think this was his first year up from the bush. He actually won the club's rookie award.

Had I thought we wanted another KPD, he's exactly the kind of youngster we would rookie list and try to develop for a couple of years. He'll need to beef up a bit for AFL, but what else is new. Not sure exactly how tall he is, looks ok at WAFL level.

It's a bit of a weird pick, because I wouldn't see much potential for him to play forward, nor in the ruck. He's a Medium/Tall Defender, and I didn't see that as a priority. He didn't test, even at the state combine, so I don't know what his numbers are like. Perhaps the Eagles believe he can also be a rebounder? I haven't seen enough of him to know.

(Or maybe somebody at East Perth had a quiet word, ya know seeing as how we're alignment partners and all, and he is the "Token Royal".)

Sounds like we have done a great job of hiding him away?
I much prefer his listing to that of Petrie. Jobs for the boys (Peter "hitman" Worsfold...) have always existed at the eagles but this is bloody baffling. Why not give him a coaching job if that is the ultimate aim?

I'm pretty sure this was his first year up from the bush, and yet he was able to push his way into the league team for several games. That's a pretty steep upwards trajectory. All jokes aside, it could be the Eagles legitimately see great potential.

Haven't followed Drew's form but I'm guessing they want a ready to go big man around who wouldn't be completely lost on an AFL ground. Club thinks its in premiership mode.
However strong or fast or skilled a knight is there are others who can match him. A man will win one tournament and fall quickly in the next. A slick spot on the grass may mean defeat, or what you had for supper the last night. A change in the wind may mean victory.

That's fine, but why did they recruit Petrie?

West Coast have signed East Perth midfielder Tarir Bayok as a category-B rookie.

The Eagles had the right to sign Bayok after selecting him as a member of their Next Generation Academy.

They had to wait to see if any other club selected him in the rookie draft before adding him to their squad under category-B rules, meaning he sits outside the club's salary cap.

Hang ON, WTF is going on here????

That's TWO players from East Perth.

Obviously I have fallen through a crack into a Parallel Universe, one where the Eagles draft Royals and Petrie is obviously still a good player.

This is going to sound hilarious, but please tell me Donald Trump isn't president in this universe.

Can't help you there.

I heard over on Earth 6 of the multi-verse that he is just a failed business guy in serious debt and on the verge of going to prison for fraud.
