Wary I think. Other than a ruckman what is there we actually need. Kelly is a bonus, our list is full of youth.

We got Gold Coast because everyone believed we were destined for lower on the ladder and that what we gave them would have been more than what they gave us.

Clearly that didn't happen, I'm certainly not complaining either.

What does our list need? not much at this stage

Probably Quality, young midfielders from the draft. Not sure if we'll get them from pick 20 this year though.

Kelly at 24 isn't young, but would be a bonus. I'm sort of happy to do nothing else.

There are good mids available at 20 and 22, so I'd be happy with that, Also think we could swap 22 for Brisbanes 32 and 35 giving us options to pick up Marlion Pickett and Dillon O'Reilly or something thereabouts.

They are blaming the loss of the COLA.

May now at Melbourne.

Freo were holding everyone up.

Now, wait for a WCE draft pick trade further up the draft then that traded onto Kelly.

Scum may have missed the boat.
Seems the Gants have now freed up enough Salary Cap space, and are playing hard-ball on Shiel to make up for the other shaftings.

Ins:
Hickey - Traded

Outs:
Lycett - RFA
McKenzie - Retired
Lecras - Retired

Potential Delistings (minimum 1 i believe so we meet the minimum 3 draft selections):
Karpany - fallen behind every other young forward - Certain delist.
Matt Allen - is he begind Waterman, Brander or do we delist and re-rookie? seemed to have been perfoming well in the WAFL
Mutimer - contracted so we can delist and rookie? or retain then delist at the end of next year
AhChee - shown enough to retain as depth
Partington - really out of favour at WC, hope he gets another opportunity as a DFA.

I think I saw the Eagles/Easts trialling Matty Allen at the end of the year up the ground and in defence. If he develops a good tank, he could be another addition to our already great defence, possibly to replace Schofield as third tall defender.

Karpany has to be on the way out, although with LeCras retiring and Ryan in trouble there may still be hope for him.

Partington I've always liked him and wished he got a chance, but just can't see it happening, he could be facing the chop, surprised we didn't find a trade for him, surely teams would have been looking at our list trying to find anything they could get their hands on and Parto tied for B and F at Easts didn't he? Should have stuck out like a sore thumb...

Is(was) there some rule that traded picks had to be used??

We have two good picks 20 & 22.
Then one late pick at ~61,
Then rubbish at 72 & 76

Assuming we want Cameron, if bid on before 61, we'd use 61, 72, and debt to pay for him. If not, do we take him at 61, or leave him for potentially the rookie list?
It's always good to keep a spot in reserve, in case there is a slider. But we also have the option of expanding our main list to 40 if needed.

So I think we need to free up one more spot on the main list, and I think it should be Ryan or Karpany.

I think if Cameron is still there at 61 and there is a mature WAFL player we are interested in we would leave Cameron until the 70 picks. If someone calls him in that small gap we points match or go into very minor debt for him. Pick 61 is only 135 points.
