I know hes not a F/S selection for us, but does anyone know why Jarred Cameron(brother of Charlie at Brisbane) who is a potential academy zone selection for us this year, didnt get get selected in the U18 squad?
He seems to have been doing very well in colts this year and was impressive as an under ager in last years U18 team.

Mick Ablett, WA AFLs talent identification manager was taking questions on sport fm this morning and I asked him about Jarred Cameron. He said hes a super talent, but reason he wasn't selected was due to off field issues. Didn't specify what. Said summich has sat down with him after non selection and spoken about what he needs to change/improve.
Hopefully its not dayle garlett level off field issues, and more just needs to knuckle down more and take footy more seriously.
Didnt sound good tho

Could be trying to manipulate the draft in an effort to end up with big brother at Brisbane.

You're saying someone actually wants to go to the lions?

Even if true, it would get laughed out of any sort of hearing purely because no draftee wants to go there

On the horizon: Zac Mainwaring, Sunny Kemp and Ben Evans – the sons of premiership heroes Chris Mainwaring, Dean Kemp and Tony Evans – are aged 16 and above, have been involved in WAFL programs and have gone through the Eagles' second generation academy, which is more about connecting past players and their children (daughters are now also involved) with the club rather than guiding them into AFL football. Two of Chris Waterman's sons, Alec and NAB AFL Rising Star nominee Jake Waterman, were drafted after being part of the academy.

I see a Jed Kemp playing Colts for Subiaco as a 16 year old, from the Goldfields FL, playing as #2. Couldn't see him on the list though, so maybe not a son of the legend.

I've seen some of Drew Banfield's kids play again. Talented but still young.

Also saw one of Ash McIntosh's son's win the cross country at his school yesterday, so has some natural attributes.

A few Father/Son prospects have been listed by WAFL clubs but most are yet to play a game. Might be a few playing PSA football but it seems most aren't interested in following in their fathers footsteps. Those who would be draftable this year.

Sunny Kemp - 6 January 2001 - Listed at East Perth
Zac Mainwaring - 16 September 2001 - Listed at Claremont
Bailey Banfield - Not Listed
Ben Evans - 11 March 2002 - Listed at Claremont
Seth Chick - Not Listed -

Zac Mainwaring is developing nicely in colts.

Had his best game on the weekend. 24 touches and a goal.
