I watched the first game against the Woods on the tellie today. Awful wind going one way unfortunately dominated the game. I thought we started OK but the Woods were always a bit cleaner and we were lacking a bit in clean skills. Still I enjoyed the contest deep into the forth quarter.

Yeah. I went down to Vic Park. Didn't get spat on. Drank my pale ale and got a taco k. Really liked the first quarter. Didn't set up well for the wind in the second. Wasted some opportunities in the third. Bit of a lack of fitness and team cohesion. Collingwood were the better team. Hate to say it. Gil, Eddie and a decent crowd were there. Nice ground, better than punt road or princess park. It's hard to be th as t annoyed with a team whose most experienced player has only had 22 games at this level. But im disappointed. We should sack the coach.

7 quarters and only 2 goals :(

they are really bad thought with all our resources and being a big club we would be at least competitive

There is just not enough depth of talent in the country for expansion teams to be any good. All the resources won't turn a lot of newbies into footballers in a single offseason. Gonna have to be patient with this team.

Yes we are. The skills in the W game are really mostly very poor from most players. I'm fully behind the concept and how it's being pushed through at pace but a spade is a spade. I watched a few minutes of women's final - somewhere in I think central Australia - on NITV on the weekend (Sunday) and the skills were really super. Long kicks hit targets and marks were clunked leading to excellent passage's of play. Probably both teams would beat any AFLW team but getting the girls out of the center would have it's own major hurdles. Still it gives hope this is what it will be like in the AFLW in short time.

Ella Roberts. Charlie Thomas. Buildinga team. Robbed by the umpires. That was not a mark and it should have been 50, not a reversal with seconds to go.

I went to this Derby. Enjoyed, skills are improving, love a close game. Freo just a whisker better - reading the play finding position better - but with a tad of luck we could have won. Over in less than 2 hours, time for the pub after.

Lost two games now by small margins. Ella Roberts got the rising star. She is a gun. someone with her marking and kicking skills would be just what we need to draft into the mens side. The last 4 games are all against top 8 sides. Hopefully they can snag a win in there.

Ah Gross. I was added to the bombers mailing list because I went to the last aflw game. I feel tainted. Hoping the girls take down the doggies. They will have won more games than the men this season. They have more wins for the year.

Some would put 2022 down as Annus horribilis, whilst others question what is going on.

Wins %
AFL Men 2 59.80%
AFL Women 2 53.20%
WAFL 1 49.01%
