What a wishy washy layout is this....looks like poofterworld.

How can we change it to vivid blue and gold?

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I take it that's a no to the new look . As long as the blue doesn't look purple/violet I think it looks very professional an modern . Welldone Q .

Bit more respect for Q. I'm sure he'd like constructive critisism and there's already a thread for that. Like anything, it will just take some time to get used to.

I thought this thread was going to be about that freo site.

But yeah, I prefer the old layout.

p.s. and also, while we're dissing the site, is it extremely slow for everybody else? It feels like its served from a 56kbps modem.

It's definately going to take some getting used to.... I don't know if I've just had a hard day at work but everything seems harder to read and find  Usually I can sit on this site for ages but I can't handle more than 10 mins before having to leave. I'm sure that will make most people happy 8)

Don't let the door smack you in the head (more than 4 or 5 times) on the way out.

Oh, and it may be time to change the locks once he's gone.

It looks ok, Q. These imbeciles know nothing of art.
Yes, I know this is a WCE fan forum. Yes, I know I'm a Freo supporter. No, that does not give you an excuse to act like an imbecile.

You don't like it then ? :)

The problem with too much colour is that it makes the actual text hard to read. You might want to read some of the original posts on this board back when it was all bright yellow and blue. Such as viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13. Take most MySpace pages as an example of why I didn't want to go down that path. Oddly enough, nearly all the colours I chose were out of the palette that I used for the old version of EFH.... though I'll grant it does look a lot different.

Nearly everything is in the same place it ever was on the page, with the exception of the user tools that are now up the top, not at the left.. I expect that it will take some getting used to - obviously for me it's easy as I've been up to my arms in the code for the last few days. Of course, if you have any ideas, I'm listening...

Nup looks more professional and cleaner now... just going to take some getting used to. I think it was just that it was running so damn slow before that made it appear worse.... I am guessing everyone is jumping on for a look with the Judd suspension.

I like it...

Q did you work out the single quote issue

I have had problems with that when I have written Java servlets for work... The easiest way to work around it is to add in a line of code that replaces the ' with its corresponding HTML ascii value...

I know these boards are generally written in PHP (not my forte) but the Java for changing this would be....

quote = quote.replaceAll("'", "\n");

NB: Just found out this is a SQL issue not necessarily PHP related... Not sure if all this will help but, yeah... Love your work :D

I really like it. The font, maybe not so much - sometimes it seems a bit crowded - but you've kept with the theme of your club without heading down that myspace path as you said. At times I found EFH a bit too bright and gaudy.

The hard block colours of a team's guernsey don't make for great web usability. I changed the forum look of WHTP because the white text on purple background makes for a pretty bad read.

Looks alright to me Q. I was a little worried initially with the speed issue that you might've made the site a little heavy, but it appears that was probably more to do with increased traffic. I like that we're now getting full context menus on right-clicks - something that just bugged me with the old site.

I thought the title was referring the dockers headquarters or that bar in melbourne that is not allowing heterosexuals in there pub. The real point is why any heterosexual would want to go in that bar.
Q, I like the older format better aswell

The title

Postby Persian Ace on Tue May 29, 2007 1:11 pm

No Way! This aint Poofterworld - i think the site is quite snazzy (it took a bit to get used too) and its a bit slower. But it looks very proffessional.

We gotta thank the lord that we got ourselves an administrator who cares about the appearance of his site (cough! - towards we have the passion, hopefully they will get my flu)

Still my only complaint is about EFH's title and its font (that copper looking one) I say bring back the old one, it may not suite the site in some peoples eyes, but it looks cool and down to earth - this one looks like it deserves to be in a war craft forum.

anyways, cheers Q.
