Ok, here's a thread about the speed issues for EFH 2.0

It's quicker than it was yesterday but only fractionally.

Q, Can you identify a specific problem that is causing the site to be slow?

Is there something you can do at your end, or is it out of your control for the time being?

It's a strange error which is causing the CPU on the server to go to 100% continually. It shouldn't be doing it as it wasn't doing it before, and I've been investigating it, though without any real success up to now.

Q, Have you tried kicking, swearing and cursing? Also if you have a spanner handy throw it against the wall. That always seems to help when my machines break down on me.

Kicking, swearing, cursing and eventually turning off the "Recent Posts" addon. The last one seems to have been the cause of the problem, which means I'll have to spend some time rewriting it.... It was an overly complex database query that caused the problem.

The only thing that doesn't seem to be working properly is the "forum latest" section on the right hand side. It shows the same thread title over and over again, not sure what's up with that? Maybe someone has already mentioned it.



But apart from that it's looking brilliant, especially being able to embed youtube videos and YELL AT PEOPLE!!

Actually what it shows is the last 15 posts in any thread - if they're all in the same thread, they all show up. The old version used to prune it for unique threads, but that was what was causing the slow down, so I simplified the query.
