Its just sad that the VFL was so determined to screw this season up.
You would think, that with all the shit going down, and all the money being lost, that would do what every other business on the planet is doing and try to shore-up their existing customer base?
But no, according to the VFL this is the perfect time to further their expansion plans.

And (like everything the VFL does) its very short-sighted.
At this point, it's almost a certainty, that by season 2021 things will NOT be back to normal. Economically we're still going to be a long way down, especially in Victoria.
We also have to accept that the world will not be rid of covid, not even close. Developing nations are still going to be screwed, and an effective universal vaccine is still a way off. So, as stupid pricks flock to Bali as soon as flights are available, we're going to be living with the new reality, that plunging back into restrictions will be only a slip-up away.

Even if they get their way, and gift Brissy the flag, it's never going to reinvigorate the club like it did for the Melbourne teams.
You only have to look back to the last times they did it, for Brissy and Sydney.
Yes a bunch of crotchety old Bloods & Lions fans suddenly forgot the teams they actually supported, dug out their moth-eaten scarves and proclaimed they had always followed the out-of-state teams. And yes, for a few months thereafter every bum-sniffer you met was suddenly an AFL fan (despite not being able to name a single player), and then,
nothing.
The new premiership scarves joined the old ones in the bottom draw, everyone else went back to bum-sniffing, and the teams went back to playing infront of their Mothers.

At this point, I'm afraid that the unthinkable has happened, and I'm stuck barracking for the Bogans to win the Flag. (Although if Ebert can miss out due to being injured, that would be ok also.)
The Saints, without Paddy, are done.
The filth just aren't that good, and really do not deserve to be in contention.
I can't stomach the idea of the feral tigers scratching and mauling their way to another flag, and gifting it to Brisvegas would be a travesty.
Geelong winning would be acceptable, provided they are then immediately stripped of all flags for their flagrant salary-cap cheating.

The Saints are no chance of getting past the ferals this week, but I think the filth may be a chance against the Pussies.

And then there were four.

As the saying goes, filth played their GF last week. Absolutely insipid tonight.
Although they were penalised by only be allowed 18 players on the field.

I'm hoping the Bogans get up against the ferals next week.

I don't think I've seen anything like it. I looked at the live stats page about 15 mins into Q3, and when I sorted it by by AFL Fantasy player scores, 18 of the top 20 players were from one team. That is unprecedented.

Was so good last night, now just need The tigers to lose, Of course the Afl will do everything in their power to get them over the line. Like getting Cotchin and Lynch off, The y play for Richmond. They can do no wrong.

Like or dislike Geelong and Richmond, but they have done exceptionally well to adapt to the ongoing changes that has been 2020 and have risen to the top. That is against the two sides that spent most of their time at home.

Why couldn't we do that? We were the most precious of the hub teams and that cost us across a shortened season.

I dislike them both but respect Richmond so I'll be going for them today. Dangerfield and Scott are... oops so are we.

Yes, we were whingers this year, very disappointing, unlike us, especially in light of how much harder all the Victorian teams ended up having it. Wasted a year because of it.

I dislike Richmond immensely. Not quite as much as I dislike Freo and Collingwood, but not far behind.

I don't really give a flying fuck who wins, but if I'm asked to choose, I would choose Richmond as the team I would like to win it the least. Having said that, I think Richmond will win easily by around 25 points (60 points in dry conditions)

Sad way for Ablett to bow out.
Surprised to see the Cats leading, but I suspect Richmond will scratch & claw their way back.

We were both right.
Maybe it was their ageing legs, but Cats were done at 3/4 time.

They play an ugly brand of football, and some of their players are complete wankers, but Richmond know how to win Grand Finals.
3 in four years is a superb effort, and we have to figure out how to emulate this

I loved the night game concept.

I had friends over and set up outside. We were able to watch the game as the sun went down. We had plenty of time to get set up before everyone arrived and we could start drinking at a reasonable hour of the day.

It's time to scrap day grand finals.

True. The day games are like Christmas Day. All the preparation for lunch, then after lunch is a lull of a few hours. At least with the night GF there is no lull, it's a swim-through.
