I took me 4 years but I have finally won my first best and fairest for the Rockingham Rams football club.

Out of a possible 50 votes, I received 30.The runner up only received 14. It was pure luck really as all the better players were injured and went missing in a few games.

I was injury free and played every game. I owe it all to my team mates who pushed me above and beyond and my coach who always gave me support.

Congratulations dude. Well done. Now you know what you can achieve it is onwards and upwards from here.

I didn't go back to back this year, but I got runner up best and fairest. I'm rapt, three team mates are livid, as they know they are better footy players than me. Lost by 7 votes and won by 3 votes. It's a little weird, as I polled more votes than last year, 33 in total.

I know this sort of thing can be a bit of snorefest for some, but for me - WOW! I mean how exciting would it have been to be on the crew that found this? It would be endlessly fascinating.

Last game of the year up at Claremont yesterday. Got pumped by 4 goals playing Kingsway, and 5 goals against Fremantle. I played two games and I'm feeling it today. Some bitches didn't cut their nails. I have scratches all up my arm. Lost a bit of claret yesterday , trying to take on three bigger blokes for a few hard ball gets and couldn't get through, ended up smashing my nose into the positions forehead, studs got caught on my fingers in tackles. Got trodden on my big toe in a marking contest. Was a good day. Beers after the game and talking to the opposition is something I really enjoy. Can't wait for 2020 to start already.

Yesterday I didn't read an email correctly. I had booked a crane for a 33Tonne chute to unload from a transport truck for today. The chute rocked up to our premises yesterday after I had gone home. The boss rang to say it's already here. So he was trying to get a crane to lift off the float asap. Luckily we have a good relationship with another crane company and they sorted it and unloaded within two and half hours. I was not happy. Totally my fault and was expecting the biggest pineapple form the boss this morning. He came into my office and just said "Shit happens. I'm really surprised you don't make more mistakes for the volume of work you do". So I was stressing over nothing in the end.

How do you switch off after work? I've never been able to do that. I've never slept well because of it.

Sounds like your boss gets it - which is a good thing. Truth is everybody fucks up at some point. The key is owning it, and not repeating it.
