Congratulations to Darcy Short, but you are oh so right. Everything is batsman-centric. All is designed as if big scores are all that is good in cricket. The introduction of boundary ropes, supposedly to protect fielders from sliding into the fence, are now sometimes 20-30 metres from the fence. Fielding restrictions. Free hits after a no-ball. No or limited short pitch bowling. No leg side bowling. Restrictive over rates that mean no fast bowler can use a full run-up for even an over as it takes too much time up. I still maintain that the best ever 1-day match was the Gillette Cup SF where Qld bowled WA out for 77 then WA bowled Qld out for 62. No fielding restrictions, lots of short pitched bowling, edge of seat stuff.

I love a good six, but yup a game is much more exciting if you are on the edge of your seat because a guy could get knocked over the next ball, not waiting to see whether they will hit another 6. I'd rather see a match with 20 wickets than 20 6's. The problem is they are trying to cater for what the general public say they want, but they don't even know what they want. End of the day it is much like all sports. Average sports fans don't like defence yet love high octane offence, yet the best games are the defensive ones where the games are anyones until the very end.

On cue. Handscombe playing the worst shot to get out to. Wish we could bat better. Finch should stick to the shorter format as well.
Do or do not! There is no try.

Yeah I wrote that post about S marsh during the UAE tour... But he has saved himself again with a good 60.... but so frustrating ..such an enigma..I want him to go well Hope he and the other aussie bats can score some runs Such an average batting lineup atm

Our bowlers have a better batting average. I hope the Perth wicket suits us a little better.

Perth Stadium has been a bowler's paradise lately.

So much for the bouncey, venomous Perth Stadium wicket reminiscent of the WACA pitches of old.

Wow just Wow,
England will destroy us.
Hope Sri Lanka wipes us off too, Still can't believe Darcy Short didn't make the One day squad.
Surely this is not all Warners doing? What has happened to Australian cricket?

S Marsh isn't a waste of talent. He simply doesn't have the temperament to succeed in the long game. He is very effective in the shorter forms of the game. It looks like the same can be said for M Marsh although it is too early to call.

Awesome win by the Aussies without Smith and Starc. Langer is the man, besides Cummins of course. Great choking by India.

It's great that the cricket is now on foxtel. I probably stopped watching cricket a year or 2 before m.clarke retired, but i watched games 3 to 5 of the ODI as i have been on leave.
