6PR Sports Central - verdict?

Fancy new name. Fancy new music. Fancy new stings. Fancy new... well, Karl Langdon.

It's just Sports Today, repackaged for whatever reason. It seems that they are easing Brad "I'm grumpy for no apparent reason" Hardie out in favour of Karl "I had the steak sandwich" Langdon.

They still dribble the same crap, though. It's nothing fresh and often is not interesting. There's a lot less AFL discussion (although with the World Cup on, that's probably why).

I certainly enjoy listening to George Grljusich more on Saturday mornings. His debates with Kim "I'm also grumpy for no apparent reason" Hagdorn are much more enjoyable than Langdon and Adrian "Do I really have any idea about what I'm talking about" Barich's banter.

Anyone else have a verdict on the relaunch?

1. Way too many ads, its getting ridiculious

2. Hardie's hatered of the soccer is pathetic. Also his hatered of any other medal or action that may in some way diminish his browlow medal is quite childish.

3. Barra while sometimes naive is a very likeable kind happy individual, very good to listen to and you know what you are going to get from him.

4. Karl, well, I will give him more time, but often he seems to take things slightly too seriously.

Put simply, the number one sports story in Perth is the West Coast Eagles. Period.
Its why every station tries to some extent to latch on to that, even if its just having a player join them "on the couch" for the "breakfast show."
Hardie's pathological hatred of the Eagles was well known, came to the surface almost every time he spoke about them, and doubtless turned a lot of fans off.
Keeping him on, NEVER made sense, and frankly I'm surprised he lasted this long.
