Selected as the Eagles "NSW Scholarship" player, the club had the option of placing Davis on the rookie list when he became eligible for the draft. Came second in the North Shore B&F on limited games and was best in their Grand Final win in 2007. Davis represented NSW/ACT in the 2007 Under 18 championships.
After only seven games at WAFL level, Davis was unexpectedly promoted to the main list and indeed debuted - a long way in less than a year from Sydney's underage competition. However after only three games in the 2009 season, Davis elected to take his chances in the AFL national draft, however he was not selected and returned to play in the WAFL.
In a somewhat big surprise, Davis was unexpectedly redrafted by the Gold Coast Suns at the 2015 rookie draft, after five years out of the AFL system |
